I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to acknowledge the receipt of your letter respecting the gratuity which the Governor of Hong Kong recommends should be awarded to Mr Wilson on his removal from the Office of Surveyor General of that colony.
I am to acquaint you, for the information of Governor Robinson, that My Lords sanction the payment to Mr Wilson of full salary up to the date of the arrival in the Colony of his successor, & of a gratuity of two months' pay on condition of his giving up his claim to the allowances in dispute.
